Man, this movie was awesome!! I felt so many emotions watching it. I laughed, I cried, I rejoiced, I got angry, ect.! The movie played its purpose, and outlined almost perfectly the story of Michael Oher. The actor who played Michael seems to be much more humble than the real football player. I've seen him in other settings, and he seemed very arrogant. However, I'm not judging the man, but if that was his style; then it should've been portrayed in the movie.

Sandra Bullock did her thing!! She's a bad B!!! That country accent did it for me Sandra, loll. She was so natural as always. Sandra, always seeming so mild tempered, easy going and down to earth; gave me a little more in this film. She showed us who is boss. Tim McGraw obviously didn't wear the pants in that family, loll.

I didn't really like how they portrayed Michael to be a bit slow. Like he didn't have it all there. I mean the man cam from the hood, but that doesn't mean he was a complete dumb ass. I understand he was well out of his jurisdiction, and was suffering from an extreme case of culture shock, but damn. The man; in real life is very intelligent. I think they should've spent more time showing how he shinned academically.

It seemed as if they had to teach him from scratch how to play football in the movie. Like here is this homeless black kid with no visible talent; lets take him in and see what tricks we can teach him. More time should've been spent displaying the true portiait of Michael Oher.

Boy, I haven't done one of these in awhile. Yesterday, on our great Dr. King's birthday celebration day; I decided to spend a day at the movies with my honey and my sister. There was really only one film I wanted to see; in which I will review next, but Lovely Bones was my sister's choice.

My emotions were up and down the entire time. I wanted the movie to speed itself along at times. I was anticipating that punch! I wanted to know how the girl was murdered. I wanted to know exactly how she thought she could her dad find her killer. It made me sad at the fact that there are really some sick people out in the world that do things that were done in this movie.

I'm not going to say it's a "must see", because I could've definitely waited to order it OnDemand. I think I'm going to pick up the novel this week. Just to see exactly how closely the film plays with the book. I'll let you guys know.

That's right, I'm back on team of love. One month deep into this thing, and although there is still more learning and kinks to work out; it feels good. Most of the kinks need to be worked out on my end anyway. I managed to snag the closest thing to perfection that I could get my hands on. That in itself has it's bitter sweet moments. I love it all nonetheless.

My operation "Pick up the Pen…Pick up the Pieces" is still in the works. I'm moving this thing right along. Summer 2010 will mark the pathway to a better future for me. It will make an impact on those who are in my life as well. My support system is stronger than ever. Now is a better time than any to make a move.

We Are Young Money comes out next week, and I will be going to buy that to see what they are talking about. This should be interesting. It better be!

Right now, I still have Trey Songz "Ready" in heavy rotation. I can't get enough of this man. "Invented Sex" , "One Love", "Does He Do It" , "Jupiter Love", "Neighbors Know My name", and "Black Roses" are all my jams!

Yesterday my sister ended up flaking on me for our weekly trip out to the parents house. So I rode solo, and decided to take myself to a Sunday matinee with the old white folks in the suburbs/country. I can tell I am getting old, because I am starting to live for those Sunday matinees. No longer can I stand going to a movie on opening night. Ugh! Anyway, I decided to check out Soul Men. Needless to say I was the ONLY one in the screening. Felt kind of weird being in there all by myself, but it was nice. About 30 minutes into the movie, this black lady and her 3 kids came in there, and decided to sit RIGHT next to me as if it were a full house. I was like wtf?! It's an empty theatre, and you sit your loud, snotty nose kids right by me?! The movie was rated R, and I hadn't noticed before they came in, but as soon as they sat down; Bernie and Samuel were, "muthafucka this and muthafucka that". I believe after the mom heard me taking deep breaths every time her kids spoke loudly, she decided to get up and move. Dumbass, shouldn't have set there in the first place. ANYWAY, Soul Men, starring the late Bernie Mac. Here is what I thought…

Though it's been some twenty years since they have spoken with one another, two estranged soul-singing legends agree to participate in a reunion performance at the Apollo Theater to honor their recently deceased band leader.

I can't lie and say I was actually interested in this movie. I really wanted to see Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes last works. I felt the concept of the movie was a bit cheesy for Samuel and Bernie. It was funny nonetheless, because I love the way these men curse. I know that's bad, but every time the word "muthafucka" was said, I was cracking up.

I did like the songs in the movie, and am thinking about buying the soundtrack. I heard it was banging. After I got over the polyester suits with ruffles, and Samuel's perm, I started to get more into the movie.

I did cry during a scene with Bernie and Issac. It wasn't a sad scene, just the fact that they are no longer with us touched me a tad bit. Rest in peace to both of those brothas, because they have truly enteretained us over the years. Needless to say, the film was dedicated to both of them, and I enjoyed the mini tribute that was done in the outakes during the ending credits.

I wanted to see this movie, because I had seen all the other ones, but I didn't plan on seeing it opening night. My besti decided to purchase tickets for 12:01am Friday morning. I was bittersweet about that. I wanted to see the movie, but I'm getting old ya'll. I just knew that I would be no good come 6:30am when it was time to get up and go to work. I went anyway though. I got into a little fender bender on the way to my besti's house, but it wasn't too bad. Just got a nice scratch on the front end of my car, and my license plate needs to be mounted back on. Other than that, blah.

I was surprised to see Megan Good in the movie. I hadn't really seen too many previews of the movie before going to see it, so her appearance was a shocker. Which for me was the only perking moment of the film. My own lustful reasons are set behind that, forgive me. Well this movie has nothing on The Secret Life Of Bees, and definitely could've been caught on bootleg.

Damn, I want to say a lot here, but I know quite a few people actually keep up with the Saw movies. I am sick of this though, and I'm so mad at the writers. I mean, what's really going on? Let's quit making all of these flashback parts and get to the point, ya dig? I really am sick of seeing this old ass white man. I hate his voice and his face. Needless to say, people were rather pissed off at the end of the movie. I'll let ya'll be the judge of that one.

Now this was the movie that I could not WAIT to see. I had been anticipating it every since I started the book written by Sue Monk Kidd. I joined the virtual bloggers book club and this was the very first book chosen to read. I thought it was a good pick. Not because I knew the movie was coming out, but because it was a different type of book than that of what I'm use to reading. I love E. Lynn Harris, and this gave me a break from his same old gay athletic super star stories. Don't get me wrong, I'm also reading his newest book Just Too Good To Be True as well, loll. However, The Secret Life Of Bees stole my spare undivided attention. I had that book in my hands every chance I got. I grew attached to little Lily Owens and her quest for love and answers to her never ending questions about her dead mother. Kidd is a very descriptive author and titillated every sense in the human structure. I felt as if I were living in each scene that she painted with her words. The movie did the book no justice, but was GREAT nonetheless.

Little Dakota Fanning did an excellent job in the film. I think she was the perfect pick for this particular part. She's such a weird little white girl, but I dig her. I've pretty much enjoyed every film she's been in. I have never been more interest in bees in my life. I kind of got a kick out of the whole bee story watching the animated film; A Bee Movie, but other than that I just made sure I stayed clear of bees and that they stayed clear of me.

Of course after reading the book, the movie seemed like it was in fast forward mode. There were a few things that were laid out different in the movie than they were in the book. I think Will and Jada did an excellent job though. Everything was done properly and Queen, Alicia and Jennifer played well together.

Alicia Keys surprised me. I absolutely loved her role in this film. She was so natural at it. And she looked so good! She's coming into this whole acting thing. She stunk in Smoking Aces, but I'm a firm believer in second chances. You proved yourself this time Ms. Keys. The movie itself was set off in the 60's so the people back then were of course more narrow minded and ignorant than they are today. Some parts pissed me off, but that's to be expected. You know me being black and all, loll. Another movie where white people underestimate my people, because the color of their skin. That crap still and will forever go down in the real world. Sad, sad, sad! Anyway, I loved the movie guys! I actually want to go see it again, but I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD.

Plot

Jerry and Rachel are two strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never met. Threatening their lives and family, she pushes Jerry and Rachel into a series of increasingly dangerous situations, using the technology of everyday life to track and control their every move.

The only thing that annoyed me with this movie was the mysterious caller giving all the directions. Her voice was the same one on the automated systems that you may call when you make a payment by phone for your cable, credit card or cellphone bill. However, that was the only annoying thing. The movie was very good to me. I think Shia did an excellent job. He's come along way since the Disney Channel and Even Stevens.

He's actually become a very handsome young man. Sexy even...

There were a lot of mixed reviews on this film, but despite what critics say; I thouroughly enjoyed it. There were not boring parts of the film in my opinion. I was in tune with every single scene. EVEN THOUGH the movie was good, I think you still can just wait until it comes out on DVD. So do NOT drop what you are doing to rush off and go see it. I'm not trying to have people mad at me. Ya'll can just come watch it with me at my crib when it comes out on DVD.
